Early advocate of deep learning, by way of harmonic grammar/acoustic modeling. Current advocate of pragmatic minimalism. Formerly: Radian6 key back-end engineer -> Salesforce acquisition -> integration technical lead for R6/SF -> Data Science lead (Social). Delivered productionized ML-driven features including sentiment classification, phrase similarity, topic modeling and image classification, with an emphasis on streaming & GPU-backed techniques where appropriate. NLP-focused, but open to heterogeneous inputs &particularly interested in learning over sequences of all kinds. Alex is a committer and PMC member of Apache PredictionIO
